Scripture memory

I've tried many times to memorize Bible verses/chapters but I have a very hard time getting it to stick in my mind by simply reading it over and over again. I've found that an excellent way to memorize Scripture (or other things, for that matter) is to listen to it! Scripture put to music is very easy for me to memorize.

I like to learn music "by ear"; that is, listening to it and memorizing it instead of reading sheet music. When I listen to Scripture put to music, the tunes stay in my head, and once I listen to it two or three times the words stay there, too.

Some friends from the assembly we used to attend (we have since moved) have recorded some Scripture verses put to music. They've also made a CD that you can listen to for free here. There are more verses on this website that you can listen to as well.
